"My work has always been dominated by colour and movement. I want to capture a moment in time, a feeling, the essence of someone or something. I want the effect to be striking, powerful and dynamic; both alive with movement and given space to breathe."
I work mostly on raw linen as I love the simple and natural way it works and sits with thick oil paint. It lends itself brilliantly to my Sporting Series and to my newer abstract Wild Swimming Series. Having always loved sport, trying to capture a moment and feeling from it remains the ultimate challenge for me.
Sport unites and bonds families, friends, communities and nations. It continues to inspire me like nothing else.
